about me
I studied at the Italia Conti Stage School for the Performing Arts for three years as a teenager. On leaving, I embarked on a journey as a singer which would see me co-writing and recording songs, performing live gigs both in the UK and New York, having one of my songs put out on a white label and doing further recording in New York. During this time, I acted in some mainstream shows in the UK, namely Our Friends In The North, which starred Malcolm McDowell, and Bugs 4 where I was a stand-in for the lead actress, Paula Hunt. I also appeared in a music video for Boy George at this time.
In 2001, I returned to drama school to study acting, this time as a post-graduate student at the London Centre for Theatre Studies. Since 2001, I have acted in several well-known plays, including Time And The Conways, Love's Labours Lost and A Midsummer Night's Dream.
New plays I've performed in include One Step Closer and Rage, Inc, written by the published American author, Le Wilhelm. I appeared in the latter in New York after spending time studying method acting at the Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute. In 2006, I joined Le Wilhelm's theatre company and also appeared in a video for Snow Patrol whilst living in NY.
In November 2007, I worked as a supporting artist on Robert Carlyle's new film, I KNOW YOU KNOW, for two days, which was great as he is my favourite actor. For more TV & film credits, please see my CV (under 'Work' on the homepage).
I have been a member of BAFTA and Women in Film & Television since 2000.
I set up Tapestry Theatre company at the end of 2007 and the first production put on was Nicky Silver's THE MAIDEN'S PRAYER which had a short, but successful, run at The Lion & Unicorn theatre in London. Please see Tapestry Theatre Company for more info.
February 2009 saw the birth of Tapestry (Film) Productions and the company filmed its first short film, in tandem with Seeing Pictures (www.seeingpictures.co.uk). The film is called Prediction, and on completion, will be sent around as many film festivals around the world as possible and given to BAFTA & Women in Film & Television for screenings.
In July 2009, I finished writing a second short film, Love Or Something Like It, which is due to be filmed in October 2009. I'm also currently in the process of writing a one-act play and will then be focusing on writing my first feature film.
